Happy first day of spring! What an inviting season spring is. Especially here in Washington where we have to wait about eight months for this weather. If there’s one thing people here are good at, it’s talking about the changes in weather. It was so nice to see everyone out and about on Sunday. The neighborhood kiddos were out riding their bikes in their swimsuits and having a water balloon fight. I love seeing a new generation riding their bikes in a circle around the trees like I used to with all the neighbor boys.
Traditions hold a very special place in my heart. If you know me then you know that I get upset when they stop or have to change. I really, really hate change. very much.
About once or twice a month my mom, aunt, sister, and I get together for lunch around 12 on Sunday. Lunch is followed by coffee at one of our favorites or some place new and a visit to local small shops. When it’s warmer we usually find ourselves in Green Lake or at my aunt’s pool. It’s something we have been doing for years now and I wouldn’t change it for anything.
Pictured above is City People’s Garden Store, located in Madison Park, Seattle. It remains one of my favorite places and I hope it stays put. I picture myself living my best life as an old lady with two cats and an overflowing garden.
Have a swell week guys!
